his area covers fundamental mathematical operations, types of numbers (including prime numbers, HCF, LCM), powers, roots, standard form, fractions, percentages, and more. It also includes concepts like rounding, estimation, and using a calculator. 
 

Algebra:

Algebra involves working with symbols and variables to represent numbers and relationships. Key topics include simplifying algebraic expressions, solving equations and inequalities, and understanding and applying algebraic concepts to solve problems. At Higher level, it includes more advanced topics like algebraic proof, transformations of graphs, and equations of circles.
 

Ratio, Proportion, and Rates of change:

This area focuses on understanding relationships between quantities. Topics include ratios, fractions, percentages, direct and inverse proportion, and rates of change. 

Geometry and Measures:

This section covers the properties of shapes, including area, perimeter, volume, and symmetry. It also includes topics like angles, transformations (translations, reflections, rotations, enlargements), Pythagoras' theorem, trigonometry, constructions, loci, and bearings. 

Probability:

Probability deals with the likelihood of events occurring.Students will learn to calculate probabilities of single events, combinations of events, and understand probability scales

Statistics:

Statistics: Statistics involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data. Key topics include data representation (e.g., bar charts, pie charts, stem and leaf diagrams), averages (mean, median, mode), range, and frequency polygons. 

Foundation Vs. Higher Tier:

While both tiers cover the six core topic areas, the Higher tier delves deeper into more advanced concepts and requires a greater level of mathematical reasoning and proof. Some topics, like calculus, are only assessed at the Higher level.
